Bold Citadel is a bagel shop in Urawa, Saitama, and this page is written the way we talk across the counter: briefly, and without hiding anything. It explains what this website does with personal information, why, and what you can ask of us under Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI).
The operator of this site and of the shop is Bold Citadel, run by Emi Taguchi, at 〒330-0064 埼玉県さいたま市浦和区岸町3-14-9. When this page says we, it means the handful of people who bake, serve and answer the mailbox. Nobody outside the shop handles your messages.
Browsing the pages leaves nothing with us. Details arrive only when you write: the name and email address you type into the enquiry form, a phone number if you add one, and whatever you say about your order, for example how many bagels for a Friday pickup or whether a catering tray should be ready by a given hour. Please do not send card numbers or health records by email; we never need them.
Your message is used to answer you and to prepare what you asked for: confirming a pre-order placed by Wednesday evening, quoting a catering tray of 24 or more with its 72 hours of notice, or replying to a question about flavours and allergens. That is the whole purpose of use. We do not build profiles, send newsletters you did not request, or reuse an old enquiry to market something new.
The pages set no analytics, advertising or social-media cookies. A single entry, called rx, is written to your browser's local storage when you press the button on the cookie notice, so the notice stays out of the way on your next page. It contains no identifier. Clear your browser data and the notice simply comes back.
Fonts, photographs and scripts are served from the same address as the pages. We do not embed outside widgets, tracking pixels or social buttons, so loading a page does not send your visit to anyone else. If that ever changes, this section will be updated first.
We do not sell, rent or pass on your details. Provision to a third party happens only where Japanese law compels it, for example a request from a court or the police, or where you have clearly asked us to pass something on, such as an order forwarded to a delivery courier for a shipment you arranged with us.
Enquiries sit in the shop's mailbox, which is opened only by the people who answer it. Once an order is collected and any question is settled, the thread is deleted. Where tax or accounting rules oblige us to hold an order record, we keep only that record, for as long as the rule requires, and nothing else from the conversation.
You may ask us to tell you what we hold about you, to correct it, to stop using it, or to delete it. We answer without charge. Write to hello@boldcitadel.com from the address in question, or call 048-831-2764 during opening hours, Tuesday to Saturday, 8:00 to 15:00. We may ask you to confirm who you are before we act, so that nobody else can pull your details.
The shop and the site are meant for general visitors. We do not knowingly collect details from children on their own. If a parent sees that a child has written to us, tell us and we will delete the message.
If the way we handle your details changes, we will edit this page and change the date at its top. The version shown here is the one in force. Questions about it, or complaints, go to hello@boldcitadel.com; you also remain free to approach the Personal Information Protection Commission of Japan.
Bagels are collected over the counter, so we see your face and hear your name when you collect a pre-order, and write that name on the bag. Pickup tickets are thrown away at closing time. We do not photograph customers or post pictures of people in the shop without asking them first.
Letters and printed orders for events, trays or office orders that reach 〒330-0064 are handled under the same rules as email: read by the people baking, answered, and then discarded or filed only if an accounting rule asks us to.
