About these terms
These terms cover the Bold Citadel website and the ordering arrangements made through it. We are a small bagel shop in Urawa, Saitama, and the terms are meant to be read in a few minutes. By using the site you accept them.

Text, photographs and recipes
The words, photographs and notebook articles here were made for Bold Citadel. Share a link, quote a line with credit, print a page for your own kitchen: all fine. Reusing our photos or notes on another business's site, menu or packaging requires a written yes from us first.
Menu, prices and availability
Prices are shown in yen per bagel, for instance ¥280 for a plain and ¥330 for a matcha-poppy, with a small discount on half-dozen bags. We bake each morning and sell until the trays are empty, so popular flavours may be gone by late morning, and the autumn special runs only while the season does. A price or time on the site is a guide; the figure we confirm to you by reply is the one that counts.
Pre-orders and catering trays
A pre-order is placed through the enquiry form or by phone, and it is not binding until we reply to confirm the flavours, quantity, pickup day and total. For Friday or Saturday pickup, send it by Wednesday evening. Catering and event trays of 24 or more need at least 72 hours of notice. The site takes no payment; you pay at pickup or in the way we agree in the confirming reply.
Changing or cancelling an order
Write or call as early as you can if your plans change. Bagels are baked the morning of pickup, so a change made before the previous afternoon is simple. If a tray is cancelled once the dough is already made, we will tell you what, if anything, we propose to charge before anything is settled.
Allergens and ingredients
Our bagels contain wheat, and several carry sesame, poppy seed or, with the cream cheese spreads, milk. The kitchen is one room, so traces can cross between flavours. If an allergy matters to you, tell us before you order and we will say honestly what we can and cannot promise.
If something is wrong with your order
If a bag is short, a flavour was swapped, or an item is not as described, tell us the same day if possible. We will replace it at the next bake or refund the price of the affected items. This sits alongside your statutory rights as a consumer in Japan, which these terms do not reduce.
Limits of liability
We take care over the site but do not promise it will always be available or free of mistakes. To the extent Japanese law allows, we are not liable for indirect loss from using the site, and we are not responsible for the content of other sites we link to.
Governing law and courts
These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. If a dispute cannot be settled by talking, the Saitama District Court (さいたま地方裁判所) is the court of first instance by agreement, unless a mandatory rule gives you a different venue.
Updating these terms
When the shop changes, for instance new hours or a new way to order, we edit this page and update the date at the top. The version published here applies from the date shown.
Use of the enquiry form
The form on the contact page opens your own email program with the message filled in. Nothing is sent until you press send there, and a message is not an order until we confirm it. Please give a real name and a working address so our reply reaches you, and keep the text to the order or question at hand.
Seasonal items and photos
Pictures on the site show what we bake, but sesame coverage, crust colour and bagel size vary a little from tray to tray because every bagel is shaped by hand. Seasonal bagels such as the kabocha and black sesame special come back only when the ingredients are at their best.
